When Moses encountered God on the mountain, he asked God what His name was. God responded with I AM. By saying this, God wanted to offer a greater revelation of who He was and is.
When Jesus came, He said is was His plan to fully reveal God to us, that if we had seen Him, we had seen the Father; Jesus also called Himself I AM.
The I AM statements are powerful and intended to reveal something about God. When we say I AM, we too are revealing a part of ourselves.
