Volume 2 of Family Medical Care (five volumes) continues the parenting section of the series by examining the possible medical problems of a growing child. Here are the everyday complaints as they may occur in each body system, with the suggested treatment of these conditions. Conditions include:

Infectious diseases: Immunisation, measles, chicken pox and mumps, hepatitis A, B and C, glandular fever, cold sores, meningitis and encephalitis, rabies, tetanus, whooping cough, diphtheria.

Emergencies: household accidents, cuts and bleeding, bruises and sprains, water accidents, choking, burns, poisoning, elecrical shock, animal bites, snakebites and spiderbites, broken bones.
