- This short little book, "Enjoy the Living Word..." written by Peter Roennfeldt is a really comprehensive outline of the development of various English Bible translations over the centuries, and why it is important to use modern English translations. Peter describes the more recent discoveries of ancient manuscripts that have helped to bring Bible translations into the modern era. I loved his charts, but I think one of the most profound things I got from this book was that we should use English translations that those seeking God can easily read and understand. The English language has changed over the centuries. Do you remember Chaucer? Have a go at reading that English today! Check this out, you won’t be sorry.
